David L. Stratton
CLU®, ChFC®, CASL®, CRPC®
David has been assisting clients with their financial decisions since his arrival in Alaska in 1969. As a young bank manager in Barrow and Fairbanks he counseled clients on the proper use of credit and cash management. In 1974 he began a career of working with employers to develop employee benefit plans that are cost-effective and beneficial to their employees.

After joining Lincoln in 1978, David moved his practice to Anchorage in 1981. He has continued to build his counseling relationships to include retirement planning and estate planning. David particularly enjoys using his expertise to assist in the financial planning process both with employers as well as their employees.

David's professional designations and required continuing education have provided advanced expertise in working with his clients in the areas of planning, portfolio design, and retirement, as well as employee benefit design and senior planning.

David was awarded the Professional of the Year by the Alaska Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors in 1990. He served on the National Board of the Society of Financial Service Professionals for three years through October 31, 2008.

David is involved in his community as a Past President of Anchorage South Rotary and is a Major Donor to the Paul Harris Foundation of Rotary International. He has been on the Board of Alaska Children Services for over ten years and President twice. He also serves on the Girdwood 2020 Board which is dedicated to Girdwood becoming a four seasons resort. He is active at St. John U.M.C. and serves on the Stewardship committee there.

David has two sons who are Alaska Air National Guard pilots and has four granddaughters. He and his wife, Ruth, celebrated their 45th anniversary in September 2009.

Tom has long been involved with various industry associations. He has been recognized as a leader by his peers having received the top professional award given by the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors - Alaska and the Alaska Association of Health Underwriters.

With the analytical tools and financial strength of Lincoln Financial Advisors, Tom helps clients develop unique strategies to accumulate, preserve and distribute their assets in a tax efficient manner. Every financial plan is custom designed to reflect his clients' unique goals and objectives.

As a Select Member of Sagemark Consulting - Private Wealth Services, Tom can now lead business owners through the exit planning process. Using proven techniques and working with the client's other advisors, he can help owners create and implement a step-by-step plan to leave their business in style. The sale of their business is, for most owners, the largest financial transaction they'll make, so having a well-designed plan is essential.

Colleen Appelo
Colleen Appelo joined our team in March of 2009. She is the friendly face you will see when you enter our office and the one who is responsible for seeing that things run smoothly in regards to administrative details.

Colleen graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a degree in Elementary Education. She enjoyed teaching for 10 years before deciding to stay at home and raise her family. Her husband, Reid, and her have been married for 21 years and are learning so much about life from being parents of two teenage children…Taylor (18) and Parker (15).
